Cal U. offering summer programs for kids
California University of Pennsylvania is holding registration for two summer programs for elementary and high school students as follows:
• SEEK, Cal’s annual Summer Educational Enrichment for Kids program, offers two weeklong sessions for children entering first through eighth grade.
“Sand & Sea” classes will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 22-26 and July 20-24 in various campus locations. Campers choose from a menu of age-appropriate classes ranging from Physics Tricks, SEEK Shark Week (business) and CSI: California (forensic science) to Sea Me Sew and Best Dances for the Beach Party.
Participants are escorted between classes and supervised at lunchtime. Each child should bring a bag lunch; refrigeration is not available.

• The Mon Valley Performing Arts Academy Summer Experience offers musical theater instruction for 8- to 17-year-olds. Classes meet from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, July 20 to Aug. 1.
After the acting, voice and dance classes and rehearsals, students will present the musical “Seussical Jr.,” complete with stage sets, costumes and props, at 4 p.m. Aug. 1.
The Mon Valley Performing Arts Academy is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Theatre, the same organization that has accredited California University’s bachelor of arts in theater program since 2005. Now in its 18th year, the Mon Valley Performing Arts Academy is one of just six academies to hold NAST accreditation.
