Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation is holding a campout today near Shelter 3 at Cross Creek County Park. There will be hot dogs and marshmallows on Friday evening, and a breakfast of danish, fruit, juice, coffee or hot chocolate on Saturday. Fee is $5 per campsite. Setup begins at 4 p.m. Bring a tent and camping supplies. To register, call 724-228-6867.
Creek Stompers program for children 3 to 5 years old will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, and will be repeated at 1 p.m. at Mingo Creek County Park. Children will search Mingo Creek for aquatic insects, crayfish and small fish. The group will meet at Shelter 4. Nets and containers will be provided. Registration is required by calling the Washington County Department of Parks and Recreation at 724-228-6867. There is no fee. Water shoes or boots and a change of clothes are suggested.
