Southwestern Local Task Force 1 will meet from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday at the IU1 central office, 1 Intermediate Unit Drive, Coal Center. A chairman is still needed. Anyone who is interested should attend. Parents of children with disabilities are encouraged to attend, as well as personnel from agencies and school districts in the Washington, Fayette and Greene counties. AFSCME Retired Chapter 13 sub-chapter 8402 will meet at 1 p.m. June 9 at Frank Sarris Public Library, 35 N. Jefferson Ave., Canonsburg. All state retired employees are welcome.
Washington County Department of Parks & Recreation will offer a needle and yarn craft workshop at 10 a.m. June 10 at the Mingo Creek County Park office. The craft will be a T-shirt pillow. Participants should bring a T-shirt or about a yard of fabric to create their pillows, plus a scissors. Refreshments and a snack will be provided. Cost is $3. Registration is required and can be made by calling the parks and recreation office at 724-228-6867.
