Caregiving program helps reduce stress
A six-week “Powerful Tools for Caregiving” program is being held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays at First Christian Church, 615 E. Beau St., Washington.
The program helps family caregivers reduce stress, improve self-confidence, communicate feelings better, balance their lives, increase their ability to make tough decisions and locate helpful resources.
“Interactive lessons, discussions and brainstorming will help you take the tools you choose and put them into action for your life,” said Michelle Rockwell, marketing coordinator for Tri-County Patriots for Independent Living.
There is no fee for this evidence-based program. A book, “The Caregiver Helpbook,” is available.
Topics include Best Practices, Caring for You, Nutrition and Rest. In addition, November is National Family Caregiving Month.
