Monongahela Valley Hospital to host lung cancer screening
Monongahela Valley Hospital will host its first Lung Cancer Screening Educational Program at 6 p.m. Nov. 11 in the Anthony M. Lombardi Education Conference Center.
During the free session, participants will learn about the importance of early detection as well as recent advancements in early detection and treatments.
Speakers will include Dr. Andrew Zahalsky, director of medical oncology; Dr. Surinder Aneja, internal/pulmonary medicine; and Dr. Adil Chaudry, a radiologist.
Lung Cancer is the leading cancer killer in both men and women in the United States. Lung cancer causes more deaths than colorectal, breast and prostate cancers combined. An estimated 158,040 are expected to die from lung cancer in 2015.
