Veterans Day events
As a way to thank veterans, local McDonald’s owner/operator Ron Galiano will provide a free breakfast meal from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Veterans Day at any of his restaurants:
• 100 Bobby Vinton Blvd., Canonsburg;
• 235 Meadowlands Blvd., Washington;
• 1412 Main St., Burgettstown;
• 3723 N. Washington Road, McMurray.
Proper identification is required. Guests should bring a military identification card, DD-214 form, Veterans Organization card or a photograph of themselves in uniform.
The Bubble Works Car Wash, 803 W. Chestnut St., Washington, will be among 3,000 car washes throughout the country that will offer free car washes to veterans and military personnel under the Grace for Vets Free Car Wash Program from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Veterans Day.
Washes will be provided rain or shine. Grace for Vets was founded in 2004 by Mike Mountz, former owner of Cloister Car Wash & Lube in Ephrata after seeing first-hand amputees and seriously wounded veterans at the Veterans Hospital in Valley Forge.

The Meadows Casino will provide a free buffet for all U.S. active-duty members and military veterans from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday at The Carvery.
The event will be on a first-come, first-served basis, and recipients must present military identification and be 21 years old. The Meadows also has premier parking spaces reserved year-round for any vehicle with a Purple Heart license plate.
