More than 40 members from Fort Cherry, McGuffey and Trinity High School Future Farmers of America chapters recently competed in a contest in which they were tested on written knowledge, tree identification, forestry tool identification and timber stand improvement. Winners were, from left: • Riley Carter, daughter of Ron and Amy Carter of Hickory, first place. She is an FFA member at Fort Cherry High School in the HG Parkinson FFA Chapter. • Raeann Silassy, daughter of Ed and Malisa Silassy of Canonsburg, second place. She is a member of the Fort Cherry High School HG Parkinson FFA Chapter. • Rodney Burnsworth, son of Rod and Paula Burnsworth of West Alexander, third place. He is a member of the McGuffey High School FFA Chapter.
