Canonsburg Middle School drama club will perform “This is a Test” at 7 p.m. Thursday.

“This is a Test,” by playwright Stephen Gregg, is a one-act comedy that has been on the Thespian Society’s annual list of most-produced short plays for more than 25 years.

The story revolves around a stressed-out student who crams for a very important test.

The ticking clock reminds him that only 60 minutes remain to complete the test, but he didn’t get the review sheets, the teacher doesn’t like him, and his classmates are blatantly cheating.

As time passes, the voices in his head remind him that even though he is having trouble with the test, his personal life is far worse.

Then he reaches the essay question. The good news is it’s an opinion essay. The bad news is it’s in Chinese.
