Washington meat cutter advances in challenge

Ed Gordon of Washington, Joe Brown of Pikeville, Ky., and Luis Perales of Lexington, Ky., have advanced to the second round of the Texas Roadhouse National Meat Cutting Challenge.

Gordon, Brown and Perales recently competed against 17 other meat cutters from Texas Roadhouse restaurants in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and West Virginia at the Morgantown Ice Rink in Morgantown, W.Va.

In March, they will face off against other regional winners in Orlando, Fla., where they will compete for the chance at the finals. The winner of the national competition receives a grand prize of $20,000 and is crowned Meat Cutter of the Year.
