Kerr – 90 years
Dorothy Mae Kerr celebrated her 90th birthday with an ice cream party at Venice Presbyterian Church.
She was born November 25, 1925.
After graduating from high school in 1943, Ms. Kerr worked for A. Mamaux Awning Co., making waterproof bags for the military. After the war in 1945, she started working for Woolworth Co. She retired in 1991 after being manager of Woolworth’s Harvest House in South Hills Village.
Ms. Kerr is an active member of Venice Presbyterian Church, where she volunteers with vacation Bible school every year. She is a member of Dorcas Circle and Be Better Christian Sunday school class. In addition to preparing many meals and luncheons at the church, she also is on the cooking team at Canonsburg-Houston Meals on Wheels.
