Jack-O-Lanter Jog aids scholarship fund
The Community Scholarship Foundation of Canon-McMillan will host its 11th annual Jack-O-Lantern Jog at 9 a.m. Oct. 31 at Central Van & Storage, 595 Meadowlands Blvd.
The Jack-O-Lantern Jog benefits the foundation’s Dollars for Scholars. All proceeds will be used to award scholarships to deserving graduating students of the Canon-McMillan School District who are continuing with post-secondary education.
The 5K race is professionally scored by Miles of Smiles and is sanctioned by USA Track & Field. Individual and team medals will be awarded to first-, second- and third-place finishers. All 5K finishers will receive a commemorative finisher’s medal.
In addition to the 5K run, there will be a Skeleton Stroll, which is a fun walk and family event that is not timed or scored for awards.
Those who register in advance will receive a T-shirt, goodie bag and tickets for the basket raffle and grand-prize drawing. Additional raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
Basket raffle prizes will be drawn at 9 a.m., and the grand-prize drawing will be held at the end of the race. Winners must be present to claim all prizes.
Advance registration is $23; registration at the gate is $25. Participants can register at www.active.com.
