Center Presbyterian Church, McMurray, is accepting donations for its annual flea market, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 23 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 24. Donations of gently worn clothing, furniture, toys and household goods in good, clean condition will be accepted from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 19-21 at the church.
Family-style baked steak dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 24 at Taylorstown Christian Church, 32 Main St. Menu includes baked steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw, beets, roll and butter, assorted desserts and drink. Cost is $13 for adults and $5 for children 3 to 12 years old. Children 2 and younger eat free. Takeout will be available, and there will be a Chinese auction.
St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 201 E. Main St., Uniontown, will hold its 34th annual Carpatho-Rusyn celebration from noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 25. The celebration will include ethnic foods, baked goods, crafts, dancers, folk displays, raffles, music, demonstrations, speakers, children’s activities and family fun. A cooking demonstration of popular Rusyn foods begins at 2. The Slavjane Folk Ensemble dancers and musicians will peform at 3 p.m. A speaker will discuss Rusyn customs and cultures at 4 and a folk musical group will perform folk, cardas and polka music at 1 and 4. Paris Presbyterian Church, 127 Steubenville Pike, Burgettstown, will hold Trunk or Treat from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 25. There will be games, food, candy, prizes and fun at this free event.
