Hickory United Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 Main St., is holding registration for Upward Basketball, which is open to kindergarten through eighth-grade students. Register online at http://registration.upward.org/UPW59824. Forms and payment can be dropped off at the church office between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or mailed to: Hickory United EPC, P.O. Box 97, Hickory, PA 15340. Cost is $75 per child. All players must attend an evaluation, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the Covenant Center. Fall Turkey Shoot will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at Cecil American Legion Post 793, Millers Run Road. Refreshments will be served.
Washington County Health Partners, in partnership with United Way of Washington County and Washington County Community Foundation Inc., will present the results from the 2012 Community Health Needs Assessment and honor local Healthy Community Awards nominees and winners at a healthy community luncheon, which will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Nov. 4 at Presbyterian SeniorCare, 825 S. Thomas Presbyterian Church, 1068 Linden Road, Eighty Four, will hold Food and Friends, a free dinner, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 5 in the Christian Life Center. Dinners are held the first and third Thursday of each month.
