The Washington County Community Foundation has elected Joan A. Chapman and Leo J. Trich Jr. to its board of trustees. Trustees serve a three-year term and may be elected to serve three consecutive terms. The primary criterion in the selection of trustees is the skill set of the individual. Chapman is vice president of systems for Chapman Corp., and is responsible for the company’s computer and information systems. A graduate of Washington & Jefferson College, she had been very active with the Washington County Agricultural Fair and served on its board of directors for many years. Previously, Chapman served on the board of the Washington County Tourism and Promotion Agency. Trich is a former Democratic member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He attended California University of Pennsylvania and Washington & Jefferson College. Before pursuing elected office, he served as commissioner of PONY Baseball, vice president of USA Baseball and on the United States Olympic Committee. Additionally, he is a founding member of Ballpark Scholarships Inc., a nonprofit volunteer organization that raised money and spearheaded the building of Consol Energy Park in Washington.
