Katrina Sue Lawrence graduated from Duquesne University School of Law, with a concentration in energy and environmental law. She received the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Graduate Award and the Susan H. Wilkie Award for Professional Responsibility and Ethics in the Practice of Law. Lawrence was the 2015 recipient of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Environment and Energy Law Section Scholarship. She also was awarded two CALI awards in Health Care Law and Professional Responsibility for obtaining the highest grade in each course. During her third year of law school, Lawrence was a staff writer and served as editor-in-chief of Joule, the university’s energy and environmental law journal. Her article was published in the 2014 edition of the online journal. She completed several interships, including serving in the solicitor’s office of the U.S. Department of the Interior in Pittsburgh, Everpower Wind Holdings LLC., Lawrence D. Brudy and Associates Inc., Attorneys at Law, and the university as a legal researcher for Professor Ann Schiavone. Lawrence previously earned a bachelor of science in wildlife and fisheries resources from West Virginia University. Her parents are John and Susan Lawrence of Carmichaels.

Jesse Descutner was named to the dean’s list for the sixth consecutive semester at the University of Pittsburgh, where he is majoring in urban planning, with minors in historic preservation and economics. He is a member of the University of Pittsburgh TV station, UPTV. Last fall, Descutner completed an internship with the Northside Leadership Conference in the real estate department and was employed as a property assessment team member during the summer at Steel Valley Councils of Government in Pittsburgh. In the fall, he will be a design review intern with the Pittsburgh Department of City Planning and a project and development liaison with Lawrenceville United. Descutner also has been selected by the Arts and Architecture Department at Pitt as a teaching assistant for Approaches to the Built Environment course. He is a 2012 graduate of Avella Junior/Senior High School, and his parents are Harry and Debora Descutner of Avella.
