Liberty United Methodist Church, 1330 Banetown Road, Washington, will hold a community dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday. The menu includes cream chicken and biscuit, mashed potatoes, green beans, coleslaw or fruit, dessert and a beverage. A free-will offering will be accepted, and all proceeds benefit local charities. Genealogy Society of Southwestern Pennsylvania will hold a cemetery scavenger hunt at 2 p.m. Oct. 3 at Washington Cemetery, 498 Park Ave. Participants should meet at the main gate. Linda Reese, a society member, will conduct the tour in search of tombstones of well-known Washington residents. The scavenger hunt is free.

Washington County Council of Democratic Women will host a candidates night at 6 p.m. Oct. 5 in Room 104 at Courthouse Square. All Washington County Democratic candidates are invited to speak. Call Deborah Harter at 724-250-9280 to confirm attendance.

Alzheimer’s Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at Golden Living Center, Waynesburg. Golden Living facilitates two groups: one for caregivers and another for those who receive care. For more information, call Ilene Richezza at 724-852-2020.

Stewardess board at St. Paul AME Church, 16 Ridge Ave., Washington, will host a calender party from 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 26. Donation is $10.
