SAR offers several contests for youth

The George Washington Chapter of Sons of the American Revolution sponsors several youth-oriented contests. They are:

• Knight Historical Essay contest – open to high school sophomores, juniors and seniors.

• Boy Scout, Eagle Scout recognition and scholarship program.

• Americanism Elementary School poster contest – open to fourth- and fifth-graders.

Students can attend public, parochial and private schools, plus accredited homeschools. Each contest is conducted at three levels: chapter, state and national, with awards varying at each level.
