Amanda Rae Kaste was named to the dean’s list at Gettysburg College, where she is majoring in religious studies and anthropology. She is a member of Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, Lambda Alpha National Anthropology Honor Society, Global Leaders of Gettysburg College, Gettysburg College Honor Commission and the Gettysburg College Sunderman Conservatory of Music’s Bullets marching band and concert choir. Kaste has been a David’s Wills Scholar for seven consecutive semesters, and was one of 30 students selected for induction in 2015 to the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society. Kaste also received the Keith Pappas Memorial Award, given annually to a student who most significantly affects the life of the college community. During winter break, she participated in the Immigration on the U.S.-Mexican Border, El Paso, Texas, Immersion Trip with Border Servant Corps, hosted by the Lutheran Border Awareness Project. Kaste is employed by the college as a program coordinator for Immersion Projects with the Center for Public Service, and also as a religious and spiritual life office associate for the Office of the Chaplain. She is a 2012 graduate of Avella Junior/Senior High School, and her parents are James and Lorraine Kaste of Burgettstown.
