Banner program underway in Charleroi
Charleroi Area Historical Society Inc. is holding its Charleroi Patriotic Hometown Heroes Banner program.
The society’s Patriotic Heritage & Remembrance Fund salutes family and friends who are serving or who have served in the military by creating and displaying a banner that will be exhibited in Charleroi between Memorial Day and Veterans Day.
The program includes a double-sided, 18-inch-by-42-inch banner, one bracket set and hardware for a one-time fee of $110.
Copies of the hometown heroes application are available at https://www.facebook.com/charhistsoc or by calling 724-797-4875 or 724-483-4961. They also are available at Goaziou Print Shop, the borough secretary’s office, John K. Tener Library, the Belgian Club, Zelenski’s and Sluggers.
Check or money orders only will be accepted. Checks should be made payable to the Charleroi Patriotic Heritage & Remembrance Fund and sent, along with a good, quality copy of a photograph of military personnel, preferably in military attire, to: CAHS Inc., Veterans Banners, 807 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, PA 15022. Applications also can be deposited in the large mail slot at CAHS.
Deadline to submit forms and payment is May 1.
All proceeds will be used for the banner program only, and any profit will be directed to veterans’ programs, interests, heritage or memories that benefit the Charleroi area community.
