Brass Camp 2016 at Bridgeville church

Brass Camp 2016, “Her Majesty’s Secret Brass Band,” for brass musicians in elementary, middle and high school will be held Sundays, July 3-31, at Bethany Presbyterian Church, Bridgeville.

Camp will end with a concert on Aug. 7 that will include a special performance by the Allegheny Brass Band, with musical selections from British composers Gustav Hoist and Edward Elgar, hits from English rock bands Queen, the Rolling Stones and The Beatles, and musical themes from the United Kingdom’s James Bond.

The camp’s director is Ryan Wolf, recent winner of West Liberty University Honors Recital Competition and Concerto Competition. He is the associate brass instructor at Thomas Jefferson High School and is the founding director of the Bridgeville Brass and the summer brass camp.

Rehearsal times are 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. for students entering fifth and sixth grade; 1:45 to 3 p.m. for students entering seventh through ninth grade; and 3:15 to 5 p.m. for students entering 10th through 12th grade.
