‘Women in Agriculture’ event in West Virginia

The seventh annual celebration of “Women in Agriculture” will be held May 17 at the Moundsville (W.Va.) Center in the former Moundsville Penitentiary.

Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the program will be held from 9 to 3:30 p.m. Participants will learn about gardening, maple syrup and honey bees, and there will be various other demonstrations. Lunch will be provided, and there will be vendors and door prizes awarded throughout the day.

Cost is $5 per person, and advanced registration is required. RSVP by May 9 to Joy Riggle at 304-242-0576, ext. 122, or joylene.riggle@wv.usda.gov.

The event is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Northern Panhandle Resource Conservation and Development, Northern Panhandle Conservation District, Northern Panhandle Stockman’s Association, Marshall, Ohio & Brooke County Farm Bureau, Upper Ohio Conservation District and Farm Credit of the Virginias.
