West Brownsville Volunteer Fire Department is selling hoagies made by Boston Beanery to benefit the Brownsville Area High School Golden Falcon marching band. Cost is $6. Orders can be placed by calling the fire department at 724-785-3112. Hoagies will be available Saturday.
Thomas Presbyterian Church, 1068 Linden Road, Eighty Four, will host Cornerstone Care’s Women’s Health Mobile from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 24. A nurse practitioner will offer free breast exams and vouchers for free mammograms and followup. Health insurance is not required. There will be a basket raffle for a $50 gift card for those who schedule a mammogram, and everyone who stops by will receive a free gift.
LeMoyne Community Center, 200 Forrest Ave., Washington, will hold a chicken-wing dinner from noon to 6 p.m. April 24. Cost is $8 for a chicken-wing dinner with four wings and a choice of two sides – macaroni and cheese, greens, potato salad or bread. Wings are $1.25 each and sides are $1.50 à la carte. Desserts and baked goods, provided by members of the American Girl Book Club, also will be available for purchase. Proceeds benefit the American Girl Book Club.
Bridgeville Area Historical Society will feature “Pittsburgh Mansions” at 7:30 p.m. April 26. The program will be presented by Melanie Linn Gutowski, author of “Pittsburgh Mansions.”
West Newton Center for Active Adults, 103 E. Main St., will hold a dinner and show at 5:30 p.m. April 27. Eddie Steen will impersonate Elvis. Cost is $170 and includes a show ticket, all-you-can-eat Amish dinner consisting of turkey breast with stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, beef pot roast, buttered noodles, vegetables, dinner rolls, salad, dessert and homemade strawberry jelly and beverage, a boxed lunch, a tour of the Intercourse Canning Co., motorcoach transportation, taxes and gratuities.
