Program delivers holiday spirit to seniors
The Home Instead Senior Care office serving southwest Allegheny and Washington counties is helping to facilitate “Be a Santa to a Senior,” a community program that provides gifts and companionship to seniors who may be alone during the holidays.
Participate in “Be a Santa to a Senior” by picking up a paper ornament hung on a tree or wreath at one of the following locations, through Dec. 13: Washington Crown Center; Kmart, McMurray; Rite Aid-South Park Shops, Bethel Park; Curves, corner of South Park and Washington roads, Bethel Park; Bethel Retirement Center, Bethel Church Road, Bethel Park; Knob Hill Apartments, Swallow Hill Road, Scott Township; or Home Instead Senior Care, Oxford Drive, Suite 10, Bethel Park.
The trees and wreaths will be hung with ornaments featuring seniors’ first names and their desired gifts. Holiday shoppers can choose an ornament, buy the requested gift and return it to the store with the ornament attached. Community volunteers and program partners will wrap and deliver the gifts to local seniors in time for the holidays.
