Claysville Christian Church youth group recently held a winter coat drive. The students dedicated a week to collecting coats, hats, gloves and scarves from the McGuffey community. There was a friendly contest to see which town – Claysville, Prosperity, South Franklin Township or West Alexander – would collect the most coats. West Alexander contributed the most donations with 97 winter coats. The youth then sorted and packaged all of the winter gear into boxes marked with the size coats they contain. The youth group will distribute the free coats and winter gear to anyone in need from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Alpine Bowling Alley parking lot in Washington.
