Carmichaels Women’s Civic Club has volunteered to conduct the Wreaths Across America ceremony for the sixth consecutive year, beginning at noon Saturday at Laurel Point Cemetery.

This year’s theme is “Say Their Names.”

Seven ceremonial wreaths will be placed to remember those who served, to honor their sacrifices and to teach younger generations about the high cost of freedom.

This year, club members and volunteers will place 330 wreaths on the graves of the veterans buried at the cemetery. American Legion Post 400 Honor Guard and Carmichaels VFW Post 3491 will participate in the wreath-laying ceremony.

American Legion Post 400 band, under the direction of Frank Ricco, will begin playing military selections at 11:30 a.m. near the monument at the cemetery. Ricco will serve as master of ceremony, and Joseph Brodak will be guest speaker.
