Jenkins to be installed as pastor at Central Assembly

Kurt Jenkins will be confirmed as the new lead pastor at Central Assembly of God in Houston at 10 a.m. Sunday.
Jenkins was voted in by members of the church in November after a three-month pastoral search. He has served as an associate pastor at the church since 2005.
Jenkins has a degree in elementary education from Duquesne University and previously taught fourth and fifth grade in the Canon-McMillian School District.
He began attending Central Assembly in 2001, and served as ministry volunteer with the youth group for three years. During this time, he met his wife, Charisse, who has been a member of the church since childhood. Jenkins continued his education through the Berean School of the Bible, where he completed his ministry credentialing process with the Assemblies of God.
While on staff at the church, he completed his ordination studies online through Southeastern University in Lakeland, Fla. Jenkins shared with members in November that his life mission was “to equip and release people into their God-given destiny.”
As an associate pastor, he has coordinated many local events, including the Freedom Festival and the First Responders Banquet. He also has maintained open communication with many of the community leaders throughout Washington County.
