Bentworth Ministerium Community Choir will perform a “Homeland Patriotic Cantata” to honor veterans at noon Saturday in Richardson Park, Frye Avenue, Bentleyville. On Sunday, the choir will appear at an ecumenical service at 10 a.m. in Bentleyville’s campground pavilion.

Washington Spinners and Weavers Guild will hold a “Tour de Fleece” from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 9 at Peters Township Public Library. There will be several types of spinning wheels, and fiber will be turned into yarn. The group will combine old and technology by using a 3-D printer to create a hand-spinning tool called a drop spindle. For more information, email wswguild@gmail.com.

Active Christian Seniors of Canonsburg United Presbyterian Church will host a trip Oct. 14 to Weston, W.Va., for the 126th anniversary of Nellie Bly’s “Around the World Tour in 80 Days.” The tour will include the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum, a catered lunch, the show, wine-tasting at Lamberts Vintage Wine and Appalachian Glass. Participants will meet at 7:30 a.m. at the church, 112 W. Pike St., Canonsburg, and return at 7 p.m. Cost is $118. A $59 deposit is due by July 14; the balance is due Sept. 14.
