Color Outside the Lines, a new program for adults who may be interested in coloring books, is held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and again from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. The library will provide coloring sheets and supplies.

T.O.P.S. weight management support group meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Saturday.

Finch Robot, a new robotics program for all ages, will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. and repeated from 5 to 7 p.m. July 11, 18 and 25 and Aug. 1, 8 and 15. The library has a limited number of Finch bots, so advance registration is required by calling the library.

Bowlby Book Club will meet at 6 p.m. July 11. “A Breath Away: Life’s Final Chapter” by local author J. Judson Lacko will be discussed.

Summer Reading Programs will be held weekly Tuesday through Aug. 12, with a free lunch provided by Greater Pittsburgh Area Food Bank and a movie from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for preschoolers and children in the school-age summer reading clubs. Programs will be held as follows:

• Preschool, for 3- to 4-year-olds – 10:30 a.m. Tuesdays.

• Preschool, for 4- to 5-year-olds – 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays.

• School-Age Summer Reading Clubs, 6- to 8-year-olds and 9- to 12-year-olds – 10:30 to 3 p.m. Wednesdays. Each week will feature a different subject: Larger than Life, Fueling Your Engine, Motion Commotion, Sports Fanatic, Mind Benders and Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff. Fit for Life sessions for 9- to 12-year-olds will be held from 3 to 4 p.m., with demonstrations in Hapkido, dance, club cardio and yoga and more for the six weeks of summer programming.

• Young Adult / T.A.G. You’re It!, for 13- to 18-year-olds – 4 p.m. Wednesdays.

• Stories Under the Moon, for 3- to 6-year-olds – 5 p.m. Wednesdays.

• Toddler Share, for 18- to 35-month-olds – 5 p.m. Tuesdays or 10:30 a.m. Thursdays.

• Baby Lap Sit – for children up to 1 year old – 1 p.m. Thursdays.

Teens can participate in “Get In the Game – READ” program, and adults can participate in the “Exercise Your Mind” reading program. Call the library to register for any of the summer reading programs.

Summer Reading Club participants will be eligible for Library Night at the Washington Wild Things Aug. 10. Tickets are free for participants and $8 for family and friends. Transportation is not provided. Deadline to order tickets is July 29. Call the library for more information.

Free computer classes will be held as follows:

• “How Do I Use This Device?” – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 14. Bring your tablet or iPhone.

• “Getting Started with a PC” – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 21. Participants will learn basic parts of a computer, how to properly turn the computer on and off and basic Internet browsing.

• “Using MS Word” – 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. July 28. Students will learn how to create and save documents, work with text, format characters and paragraphs and print a document. Basic mouse and keyboarding skills are required.

Seated is limited. Call the library to register.

Teen Advisory Group will host an After-After Hours party for 13- to 18-year-olds from 8 to 10 p.m. July 15. Suggested donation is $2 at the door. Call the library to register.

Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium trip will be held Aug. 13. Cost is $14 per person and includes bus transportation. Children younger than 2 are free. The bus will leave at 8:30 a.m. from the library and return at 4:30 p.m. Everyone must either bring a bagged lunch, or buy a lunch at the zoo. Call the library to for more information or to purchase tickets.

Tickets for the Steelers season ticket raffle are available at the library or from board members. Cost is $10 per ticket. The winning ticket holder will receive season tickets, including two preseason and eight regular-season games. The drawing is based on the Pennsylvania Lottery Evening three-digit number Aug. 6.

Tickets for a red and white queen-size quilt raffle are being sold. Cost is $1 each. The quilt is being made and donated by the Quilters and Quilters’ Friends Group. The winners will be determined by the Pennsylvania Daily Lottery Evening Pick Three drawing Nov. 28.

Book Club will meet at 2 p.m. July 21. “The Honk and Holler Opening Soon” by Billie Letts will be discussed.

Summer Reading Program 2016 will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon July 12 through Aug. 2. The first program will feature magician Steve Haberman. Other programs will include Sports Works, July 19; Olympic Fun, July 26; and a Back to School Pep Rally, Aug. 2. A craft and snack will be provided.

Book Club will host local author Janet Roberts at 2 p.m. Aug. 18. She will discuss her book, “The Narrow Gate.” A light lunch will be served. The program is free, but registration is required by calling the library.

The library is participating in the Library of Congress National Book Festival Summer Writing Contest. The contest is open to students who will be entering fifth and sixth grade in the fall. The theme is “A Book That Shaped Me,” and encourages entrants to reflect on a book that has made a personal impact on their lives. Prizes will be awarded at three levels of judging: state finalists, state winners and grand-prize winners. Top winners will be invited to the awards ceremony in September in Washington, D.C. For more information or an entry form, stop in the Children’s Department.

TGIF: Tinkering, Games, Ideas, and Fun is held throughout the day Fridays in the Children’s Department. All supplies, materials and directions for a different activity, craft, game or puzzle each week will be set up. Each activity is be self-guided; younger children must be accompanied by an adult.

Chess Club will not meet in July.

Lego Club will not meet in July.

Book of the month in the Children’s Department is “Randi Rhodes, Ninja Detective” by Octavia Spencer. The random-drawing contest is open to children 12 year and younger. The winning entry will be drawn July 30.

Teen Summer Reading Challenges are underway. Read anything and complete an entry form at the library to be eligible for weekly prizes. Play the Teens Top 10 Bingo for more chances and prizes. Visit the library’s website for more information.

Book signing by Adela Damiani Costanza, author of “Seeing through the Smog … Clearly,” will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. July 10. Costanza is a Donora native who has written about her life growing up in Donora during the Depression and the Smog Disaster.
