Shannon Crumrine was named to the dean’s list at West Virginia University, where she is majoring in elementary education. She is a 2014 graduate of Washington High School, and her parents are Roy and Sandy Crumrine of Washington.

Alex Eddy graduated from West Virginia University, where he earned a master’s degree in school counseling. He is a member of Chi Sigma Iota, Phi Sigma Theta and Phi Upsilon Omicron honor societies, the American School Counseling Association, the National Society of Leadership and Success, WVU Council for Exceptional Children and WVU Autism Speaks. Eddy also is community service chairman of Chi Sigma Iota, and was named to the dean’s list several semesters. He is a 2009 graduate of Waynesburg Central High School and is employed as a school-based therapist at the United Summit Center in Westover, W.Va. His parents are Michael and Natalie Eddy of Mt. Morris.

Andrew Irwin graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, where he earned a degree in systems engineering. He also was named to the dean’s list, was a starting flanker on the nationally ranked rugby team and was commissioned in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant in infantry. Irwin is a 2012 graduate of Peters Township High School, and his parents are Lew and Marcia Irwin of McMurray.

Cassidy Kovacicek, daughter of Brenda Kovacicek of Washington, was named to the dean’s list at Westminster College, where she is majoring in early childhood and special education. She is a member of the swim team, Lambda Sigma Honor Society, student Westminster admissions team, Student Government Association and Council for Exceptional Children. Kovacicek is a 2014 graduate of Trinity High School.

Jacob Barre Nicolella graduated from Clarion University, where he was named to the dean’s list with a 4.0 grade-point average. He swam competitively for two years and studied international business in Rome for a semester. Nicolella is a 2012 graduate of Bishop Canevin High School and is employed at Campbell Insurance Agency in Washington. His parents are Anthony and Debi Nicolella of East Washington.

Mallory Rogers was named to the dean’s list at Syracuse University, where she is majoring in television, radio and film. She is a member of Delta Kappa Alpha professional cinematic fraternity; head editor on the Citrus TV show “College Eats”; content producer for Orange Television Network; and a peer adviser for the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She is interning this summer at Craft Worldwide, a division of McCann Worldgroup, in New York City. She is a 2014 graduate of Trinity High School, and her parents are Nick and Liz Rogers of Washington.

Nathan Staso was named to the dean’s list at York College of Pennsylvania, where he is majoring in mass communications. He is a 2015 graduate of Washington High School, and his parents are Scott and Lisa Staso of Washington.

Gary R. Stofko of Fairfax, Va., formerly of Carroll Township, graduated from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School of National Security and Resourcing Strategy at National Defense University at Fort McNair in Washington, D.C., with a master of science in national resource strategy. He will return to the Veterans Affairs and Defense Health Branch in the National Security Division of the Office of Management and Budget. Stofko has a master’s degree in public administration from the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree in political science from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe. His parents are Richard and Dolores Stofko of North Strabane Township.
