Fifteen members of the HG Parkinson FFA Chapter from Fort Cherry High School recently attended the state FFA Convention at Penn State University, where they participated in Career Development Events that tested their knowledge in various areas of the agricultural industry.

Six members qualified for the Parliamentary Procedure Contest, which tested their knowledge of a proper business meeting using Roberts Rules of Order. The team earned a bronze medal.

In addition, speech members qualified for their divisions by competing in local and regional events. Members who received medals in prepared speech contests were:

• Raegan Smith, who earned a gold medal in Conservation Public Speaking;

• Riley Carter, who earned a silver medal in Prepared Public Speaking;

• Lindsay Bracall, who earned a bronze medal in Junior Prepared Public Speaking.

The team of Cassie Krocker, Josh Curtis and Morgan Zickefoose won a silver medal in the FFA Knowledge Quiz Bowl.
