National Night Out will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 2 in the parking lot at Target, 335 Washington Road, Washington.

There will be games and activities, free snacks and drinks, door prizes, giveaways and food trucks.

National Night Out is an annual event designed to strengthen communities by encouraging neighborhoods to engage in stronger relationships with each other and with their local law-enforcement partners. The goal is to heighten crime-prevention awareness, build support and participation in local anti-crime programs and send a message that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
