Helen Marie Carson Hathaway of Washington will celebrate her 102nd birthday with a small party for family and friends Aug. 4 at Kade Health and Rehabilitation Center. Cards are asked to be sent to 1198 W. Wylie Ave., Washington, PA 15301, with the goal of giving Mrs. Hathaway 102 cards.

She was born August 4, 1914.

On August 15, 1934, she married Earl L. Hathaway, who died in 1988.

The couple had one son, the late Gene Hathaway.

Mrs. Hathaway is the oldest member of North Buffalo Church. She always had a large garden and enjoyed quilting, winning numerous blue ribbons for her quilts. Mrs. Hathaway became a resident of Kade in November 2014. She enjoys socializing with residents and staff, attending activities and visiting with family and friends.
