White Oak American Legion Post 701, 2813 Capital St., White Oak, will sponsor oldies dances from 7 to 11 p.m. Aug. 6 and Aug. 20. A 50/50 drawing will be offered. Music from the 1950s and early 1960s will be featured. Admission is $5. All proceeds benefit veterans programs. For more information, call 724-984-6611.

Bridgeville Area Historical Society will celebrate its 15th birthday Aug. 6 and 7 with historian John Oyler speaking from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Kay Banks Building, 441 Station St. There will be displays in the mini museum.
