Senior Games set in Uniontown

The 30th annual Senior Games, sponsored by Southwestern Pennsylvania Area Agency on Aging Inc., will be held Wednesday at Laurel Highlands High School, 300 Bailey Ave, Uniontown.

The theme is “Celebrate the Past, Awaken the Future.”

Parade of Athletes from Fayette, Greene and Washington counties begins at 9:30 a.m. Athletic competitions and related events will begin at 10 a.m.

Events are for individuals 50 and older and include the 50-yard dash, one-mile walk, basketball toss, bocce, corn-bag toss, football throw, horseshoes, putting, shuffleboard, softball throw and stationary bike. There is no charge for admission, but there is a $1 registration fee for each competition. Medals are awarded during the event.

In addition, there will be a daylong PrimeTime Health Fair, and prize drawings will be held in the auditorium at 2 p.m. The Mountain Citizens’ Senior Center is conducting super bingo near the fair, and the Pennsylvania Lottery will be giving coupons for a free lottery ticket to each person 18 years and older who visits the lottery table.
