The Washington Lions Club recently presented $1,000 scholarships to seniors at Washington, Trinity and McGuffey High schools. Two McGuffey students received scholarships because of a tie. Winners were: • Kayla Baxendell, a graduate of McGuffey High School and daughter of William Baxendell and Kristin Delgado of Washington. She plans to attend Ohio Northern University, College of Pharmacy. • Eva Gnegy, a graduate of Trinity High School and daughter of Kevin and Lisa Gnegy of Washington. She plans to major in aerospace engineering at the University of Michigan. The scholarship is given in memory of Mr. and Mrs. William Moore. • Mariah McGuier, a graduate of McGuffey High School and daughter of Jay and Janet McGuier of Avella. She plans to major in biochemistry at St. Vincent’s College. • Austin Sperl, a graduate of Washington High School and son of Mark and Michelle Sperl of Washington. He plans to major in engineering at Penn State University.
