Washington Health System recently recognized its January Athletes and Coach of the Month. They are: • Rilie Bennardini, who is co-captain of the rifle team at Washington High School. Bennardini is on pace to return to the WPIAL individual competition this year as one of the team’s top shooters. She has a 4.01 grade-point average, participates in numerous after-school activities and has two jobs. • Kent James, head coach of the soccer team at Washington High School. James has coached soccer in the school district for about 25 years, and is recognized for his professional and nurturing approach to coaching. He also participates in an adult soccer league. • Anthony Popeck, co-captain of the varsity basketball team at Washington High School. Popeck is considered a versatile player on both ends of the court. In the classroom, he has a 3.79 grade-point average.
