Recycling collection time changed
Washington County’s monthly recycling collection time at the Washington County Fairgrounds has been changed to 2:30 p.m.
The revised start time will ensure that the site will be ready to accept participants after the Greater Washington County Food Bank cleans up from its operations in the shared space.
The next collection will be held April 5. Items that will be accepted are computer monitors (CRTs and LCDs); computer towers and bases; mice, keyboards and speakers; notebook computers; printers; and televisions (CRTs and LCDs). Future events may include more items.
Most items are collected for free, and televisions are limited to one per carload per event. Four- and eight-foot fluorescent tubes and Compact Fluorescent Lights will be accepted for a fee of $1 per bulb. Freon appliances will be acceped, with a Freon removal fee of $15. Cash and checks will be accepted.
