Benefit golf tournament at Valley Brook
Family Hospice and Palliative Care will hold a golf benefit May 23 at Valley Brook Country Club, McMurray.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11. Various levels of involvement, including individual golfer and foursome registration, are available.
There will be a hole-in-one for $50,000, sponsored by USA Compression, and a hole-in-one for a two-year vehicle lease sponsored by Bobby Rahal Automotive. Skill prizes for the best score, longest drive, longest putt and closest to the pin also will be awarded.
Golfers also can participate in the 100-meter Duckie Freestyle by sponsoring a duck for $5 to swim the country club stream. The sponsor of the winning duck will receive a prize.
A silent auction will begin at 4 p.m. and includes condominium stays at Hilton Head, S.C, Topsail, N.C., and Snowshoe, W.Va., as well as tickets to sporting and cultural events. The awards dinner will begin at 4:30.
Emcee will be Pittsburgh sports author Jim O’Brien, and all golfers will receive a signed copy of his book, “Fantasy Camp: Living the Dream with Maz and the ’60s Bucs.”
Nongolfers also are welcome to attend the dinner and silent auction and can purchase tickets individually.
