Adela Damiani Costanza, 95, who recently published an autobiography, “Seeing Through the Smog … Clearly,” a story of survival, determination and faith spanning nine decades, will hold a book signing at 2 p.m. Thursday at Strabane Trails Village, Washington.
Peters Creek Historical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Wright’s United Methodist Church, 788 Venetia Road, Venetia. Len Marraccini, vice president of the society and curator of the Mine History Room at the Wright House, will discuss “The Horning Mine Disaster of 1926.” The program will include the history of the mine, the death of 20 miners, the reopening of the mine in 1934 and its inclusion in the movie “Black Fury.”
State Rep. Jim Christiana, R-15th District, will hold a town hall meeting from 6 to 8 p.m. March 30 in the South Franklin Community Building, 100 Municipal Road, Washington.
Charleroi Area Golden Age Club will meet at noon April 1 at Charleroi fire hall. Down payment for the trip to Atlantic City June 7-10, lunch time at Nemacolin Woodlands and the show “Samson” at Sight & Sound Theatre in Lancaster are due.
Findlay Township Garden Club will hold its second annual Gardeners Huddle from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 2 in the Findlay Township Activity Center, 310 Main St., Imperial. Speakers will be Steve Piskor, who will discuss “Cool Tools and Other Stuff for the Garden;” Kitty Vagley, “Pittsburgh Botanic Garden;” Carol Kirkpatrick, “Gardening with Deer;” and Don Steward, “West Allegheny Work Camp.” Registration and continental breakfast begin at 7:30.
