Donegal Township will hold its annual cleanup day for township residents from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 727 Old National Pike, Claysville. Items that will not be accepted are household garbage, hazardous materials, paint, freon, tires and yard trimmings. Electronics will be accepted.
A.D. White Research Society will present the 2016 Meadowcroft Lecture at 11 a.m. Saturday in the meeting room at Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village, 401 Meadowcroft Road, Avella. Andrew Donovan, program coordinator and blacksmith at Meadowcroft, will speak. Food will be available for purchase by members of St Michael’s Church in Avella. Slovan Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 6553 will hold its third annual flea market event from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday inside the Slovan VFW. There will be nearly 50 tables of garage sale items, crafters and vendors and food will be for sale as well as raffle tickets. Proceeds will aid veterans and organizations such as the Pittsburgh VA, the National Home for Children, Wreaths Across America and The Snowball Express.
Basket Auction will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Fairview United Methodist Church, Laureldale Road, Grindstone. Admission is $5 and includes refreshments.
Monongahela Area Revitalization Corp. will hold its 12th annual What’s It Worth? antique appraisal from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Monongahela Area Library, 813 W. Main St. Cost is $5 for an open/oral appraisal from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and $10 for a private appraisal from 3 to 4 p.m. Featured appraisers will be Anthony Luppino and Phong T. An all-you-can-east buckwheat breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday in Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department. The menu also includes sausage, orange juice and coffee. Cost is $6 for those 10 years and older, $3 for those 4 to 9 and $3 those 3 and youner. Benefits benefit Jefferson Volunteer Fire Department.
