Carmichaels to hold annual Light-Up Night in town square
CARMICHAELS – The holiday cheer in Greene County this weekend isn’t confined just to Waynesburg.
The Carmichaels Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Light-Up Night Saturday in the borough’s town square.
The event starts at 5 p.m. and will include singing by the Carmichaels Elementary School Musical Mikes and music from the Carmichaels Area High School marching band.
Santa Claus will arrive on a Carmichaels-Cumberland fire truck, and will be escorted by Morgan Voithofer, who is serving as the 2016 Pennsylvania Bituminous Coal Queen.
Chamber members will pass out treats to children up to 12 years old after Santa arrives. Dave Plavi will provide music during the festivities.
The Christmas tree for this year’s Light-Up Night was donated by Fred Clark of Clarks Nursery and was decorated by Carmichaels Borough.
