Bentleyville Baptist Church celebrates anniversary
Bentleyville Baptist Church, 205 Locust Street, recently celebrated its 110th anniversary.
Through the years, it has seen many changes from the coal mine decreasing, living through the depression, World Wars, and modern technology. It remains the same teaching Bible principles. Currently, the pastor is Rev. Edwin Layman Davis.
During the celebration service, the children’s praise team performed a special worship dance and the mass choir sang. The event also celebrated the completed renovation of the 110-year-old facility.
“We are so glad to celebrate the re-opening, as well as the 110th anniversary of the church. It took a long time to renovate it, but we glad it is still here for us to worship in,” member Carol Jones said.
Former pastor, the Rev. Leslie Reagan, spoke. An evening service was conducted by the Rev. Ed Popovich, director of the Shiloh Bible Institute, Washington.
