‘A Trip through Time’ at Cal U.

California University of Pennsylvania’s Department of History, Politics and Society will hold “A Trip Through Time” from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. April 29. Re-enactors and historians will visit Natali Student Center to showcase aspects of life from the medieval age to the Civil War era.

Free activities include the following:

• Military encampments featuring the 63rd Pennsylvania Volunteer Company, Civil War Reenactors, Voices of the Confederac, and the 42nd Royal Highlanders from the French and Indian War.

• Displays of Native American armaments and artifacts presented by Todd Johnson and cultural items from the French and Indian War and Revolutionary War periods presented by Scottish Jacobite re-enactor James Roberts.

• Demonstrations of fencing and dancing by the Pittsburgh Country Scottish Dancers, the Society for Creative Anachronism, and the Cal U Fencing Club and Medieval Club; and primitive food preparation by Monica Colberg.

• A panel presentation featuring faculty members
