Washington County 4-H recently collected 7,047 pounds of food and supplies for the Greater Washington County Food Bank.

Fifteen 4-H clubs donated food on April 8 at the Greater Washington County Food Bank in Brownsville. They collected canned goods, cleaning products and other food items.

Don Carter from the Washington Farm Bureau and Heidi Hoffman, donor relations coordinator of the Greater Washington County Food Bank, volunteered that day to oversee the donations and weigh in food and supplies.

More than 25 4-H members and 4-H leaders donated their time to sort items during the day.

The 4-H clubs that collected for the food bank were:

• Hickory Ag, 1,826 pounds;

• Heart and Home, 1,233;

• Ten Mile, 759;

• Van Kirk Friendship, 642;

• Sunny Bell, 410;

• Rabbit Habit, 395;

• Buffalo Ag, 379;

• Crossroads, 300;

• Clover Patch, 251;

• Pike Run, 227;

• Country Critters, 202;

• Huckleberry Spurs, 163;

• Animal Antics, 143;

• Raging Roosters, 79;

• Golden Bridges, 40.

Cash donations also were received.
