St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 302 Third Ave., Brownsville, will hold a “Flea Market/Rummage Sale” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Aug. 12. No early birds will be allowed. AFSCME Retiree Local 8402 will meet at 1 p.m. Tuesday at VFW Post 191, Canonsburg, for the monthly membership meeting and picnic.
Rummage sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 10-12 at Taylor United Methodist Church, 610 Old National Pike, Brownsville. Clothing, various household items, toys, furniture and odds and ends will be available. The kitchen will serve sandwiches, chicken and fries, homemade soup, cabbage and noodles and baked goods. West Newton Community Festival will be held Sept. 8-10. Businesses or organizations interested in participating in the parade that begins at noon Sept. 9 should inquire on Facebook or at westnewtonfestival@yahoo.com. Sign up to participate in the baby photo contest, pet photo contest, all-wheels parade and pet parade. Entry forms are available on Facebook, at the West Newton post office or at Gary’s Chuck Wagon. Applications for vendors are still being accepted.
