Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center returns the critically-acclaimed production of the holiday tradition, “The Nutcracker,” beginning Thursday on the Main Stage Theater as the fourth show in the 2017-18 Dream Bigger Highmark Subscription Series.

Performances will follow at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Under the direction of Jennifer Verba, the classic Victorian-era story by E.T.A. Hoffman features all new choreography as well as Clara, the Nutcracker Prince, Dr. Drosselmeier and Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s glorious score.

“This spectacular production is a big undertaking and one that I am so thrilled to see return,” said Verba. “The design and choreography team we’ve assembled is the best in years and the artistry of the students will astound the audiences. We are all thrilled to welcome it back to our community. Our goal is to leave even more audiences absolutely amazed and fully-immersed in this magical experience.”

Gregory Buck, a junior at the Lincoln Park performing Arts Charter School from McKees Rocks, will play the lead as the Nutcracker Prince. Jocelyn Scullion, a junior from Carnegie, is Clara; Jacon Butterfield, a senior from Avella, is the Mouse King; Mathew Fedorek, a junior from Finleyville is the Snow King; Jillian Ferguson, a senior from Wilkinsburg, is the Snow Queen; and Macy Minear, a senior from Mars, will play the Sugar Plum Fairy.
