Princeton Review editor to speak at W&J College

Robert Franek, editor-in-chief of The Princeton Review, will be the keynote speaker when Washington & Jefferson College holds an admission event at 9 a.m. Monday.

Franek’s lecture, “Finding Best Fit Colleges: How to Choose – and Get Into – the College Best for You,” will be held in the Allen Ballroom at the Rossin Campus Center.

Additionally, prospective students and their families are invited to tour campus, hear from Dr. Tori Haring-Smith, W&J’s president, and participate in breakout sessions that introduce them to W&J students, faculty and staff.

During his 23-year career, Franek has served as a college admissions administrator, test prep teacher, author and lecturer. He is The Princeton Review’s chief expert on education and college issues, and is the lead author of the company’s annual books, “The Best 381 Colleges” (August 2016) and “Colleges That Pay You Back: The 200 Schools That Give You the Best Bang for Your Tuition Buck” (February 2017).

He also is the author of “Colleges That Create Futures: 50 Schools That Launch Careers by Going Beyond the Classroom” (September 2015) and co-author of “If the U Fits: Expert Advice on Finding the Right College and Getting Accepted” (March 2014).

Franek has been consulted on education topics by the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal and The Chronicle of Higher Education, among other media outlets. He has appeared on the “Today” show, “Good Morning America” and CBS “This Morning,” and on several FOX, CNN and NPR programs.

Before joining The Princeton Review in 1999, Franek served as a college admissions administrator at Wagner College in New York City for six years. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in political science and history at Drew University, is a member of the university’s board of trustees. He also conducts historical walking tours of New York City for Sweet City Tours, a company he founded.
