AARP tax help available
AARP will provide free tax preparation for senior citizens as follows:
• McDonald-Cecil Senior Community Center – Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Call Naomi at 724-743-1827 to schedule an appointment.
• Heritage Public Library – Thursdays. Call Becky at 724-926-8400.
• Presbyterian Senior Care Center – Fridays. Call Karen at 724-250-4993.
• Peters Township Public Library – evening hours only. Call 724-941-9430, ext. 3100.
• Washington Senior Center – Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Call 724-222-8566.
Tax counselors are trained by the Internal Revenue Service and the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, and are able to complete federal, state, local and Pennsylvania Property Tax and Rental Rebates for seniors. All returns will be electronically submitted. Taxpayers will receive a copy of each return for their tax records.
