St. Louise to host Feast of Corpus Christi

St. Louise de Marillac Parish, 320 McMurray Road, Upper St. Clair, will celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi June 18.

Festivities will begin with Mass at 4:30 p.m., followed by an outdoor procession with the Blessed Sacrament, then benediction of the Blessed Sacrament in the church.

This tradition dates back to the Middle Ages as a way to honor the Lord’s presence in the Eucharist. When the Blessed Sacrament is carried through the streets in solemn procession, Catholics give public witness of their faith and devotion to the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
