Greene County Association of School Retirees is a chapter of Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, with 250 members that include retired teachers, administrators, secretaries, aides, custodians and cafeteria workers. For the 80th anniversary year of PASR, Greene County Association presented, for the first time, six $1,000 scholarships to graduating seniors who are furthering their education at an institution of higher learning.

Awards were presented to Caitlyn Ricco of Carmichaels, Eva Humphries of Jefferson-Morgan, Hannah Reed of West Greene, Cora Goforth of Southeastern Greene, Suzanna Schmelzlen of Greene County Career and Technology Center and Makayla Rogers of Waynesburg.

GCASR member Alice Souders is chairwoman of the scholarship committee
